Michilla mine site produces approximately 21,000 metric tons per year of high quality electro-winning copper cathodes, registered on the London Metal Exchange and the New York Metal Exchange, under the MIC-P brand. It is certified in ISO 9001:2015 and certified in compliance with ESG criteria by The Copper Mark.
The trip of our copper cathodes: from Michilla to the world
From our Michilla mine site, the copper cathodes of HMC travel to Asia, Europe, United States and Brazil. These cathodes are fundamental to global energy transition, key components for renewable energies and sustainable technologies.
Our commitment to responsible mining is reflected in each cathode carefully extracted and processed with care and respect for the environment. This map shows the routes that our cathodes travel, highlighting our contribution to a cleaner and more efficient future.
Destination of Michilla ́s cathodes

Tambo de Oro mine site produces over 30,000 Au equivalent ounces (GEOs), through a flotation process obtaining a concentrate with grades between 50 and 120 gr/ton of Au equivalent. Likewise, the mine produces between 4 and 6 tons of gold concentrates or gold sands per year using Knelson concentrators, process in which grades vary between 2,000 and 4,000 gr/ton of gold. This product is exported to refineries where it is used in the fabrication of electronic components, catalyzers and jewelry.
