More than 20 years working for efficient and respectful mining. Our history goes back to the beginnings of this century when Minera Pudahuel had to sell the Sagasca deposit, located in Pozo Almonte, Iquique region, and the facilities of a solvent extraction (SX) and electro-wining (EW) plant, located in Lo Aguirre, Metropolitan Region.  A group of 100 % Chilean shareholders was attracted by this opportunity. They had prominent backgrounds in several sectors of the national industry and were motivated by their interest in investing and developing the mining sector. They accepted the challenge and opportunity: in addition to the site and the plant, they had an experienced human team willing to go along with them in this endeavor.

The processing plant was dismantled and transported in trucks to Pozo Almonte, an massive accomplishment. This bold decision proved to be very efficient since it allowed the company to build the (SX) and electro-wining (EW) plants at a reasonable investment cost.

2004 marked the first year of operation of the Sagasca mine site and the beginnings of HMC in copper mining.

In 2010, while searching for new projects, the company found an opportunity to develop the Tambo de Oro site, located in the area of Punitaqui, Coquimbo region, in association with Australian investors.

HMC, by the end of 2016, bought both the Michilla mine site and industrial plant, located in the surroundings of Tocopilla, Antofagasta region, from Antofagasta Minerals. The, site has been operating since 2019.
