It is an underground mine containing copper oxides and was actively in operation between 2004 and 2015, with an average annual output of 15,000 tons of copper cathodes through the exploitation and processing of fresh minerals and old spent ore by means of heap leach, solvent extraction and electro-winning (SX-EW).

The plant includes mining infrastructure and facilities for mineral processing such as crushing and agglomeration plants, an SX-EW plant and a sulfuric acid plant. Production capacity is 4,000 tons per day (tpd) of crushed mineral and 19,000 (fine metric tons) of copper per year; the sulfuric acid plant has a capacity of 340 (tpd) and acid 98%. Additionally, the plant has all the necessary infrastructure for operating, including access roads, connection to electricity grid, industrial water supply from wells, offices, warehouses and workshops.

At present, the company is evaluating a project to reopen both the mine and the plant. The pre-feasibility study is finished and projects a production of 14,000 tons of cathodes per year for a period of eight years and an eventual potential growth that would add an additional seven years with an annual production of 10,000 tons of cathodes.
